Pris Texeira Fund

Pris Texeira, a successful visionary businesswoman believed in reaching out her hand to help other women lift themselves out of poverty. In celebration of her 65th birthday, she created a fund to support the Foundation’s mission as a way to live out her passion for providing women with a chance and an opportunity to better their lives and the lives of their children. As Pris herself has said, “ I have come to believe that one cannot be truly successful unless it involves helping other women.”

Pris’ efforts helped educate many others about the need for microfinance and its successes around the world. She also garnered 22 new donors for the Foundation. Feed The Hunger Foundation thanks Pris for her generosity and compassionate spirit. It is through partnerships such as these that we are able to touch the lives of so many women around the world.

UBoost Lead the Way

UBoost is an innovative on-line educational website whose mission is to inspire students to perform at their highest academic level by surrounding them with motivational elements that foster interaction with and recognition from teachers, tutors, parents, and peers. Their rewards platform empowers students by recognizing their individual academic achievements through a point system. Students can choose from over a 100,000 prizes, including merchandise, gift cards, digital assets, contributing to charitable organizations and special offers.

In 2009, several elementary school students chose to forego prizes for themselves and instead chose to use their points to donate cash to help a woman buy a cow, another to buy a goat, and to sponsor a microfinance loan. Feed The Hunger Foundation thanks these budding philanthropists and socially conscious kids!!!!
